FIA files case against Imran Riaz over anti-judiciary campaign on social media

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a case against journalist and YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan for allegedly running an anti-judiciary campaign on social media, Express News reported on Wednesday. The case was filed by the FIA Cyber Crime Circle in Islamabad, naming seven individuals, including Imran Riaz, for their involvement in the online campaign. The others named in the case are Mujahid Ali Shah, Allah Nawaz Khan, Sohail Ahmed, Umar Sadiq, Sadiq Anjum, Musadiq Abbasi, and Tariq Saleem. The complaint was lodged by Ahmad Sadiq Khan, a resident of G-14 Islamabad, under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) Section 20 for "violation of privacy," along with sections relating to issuing threats and abetment. Sources indicate that the arrests of those named in the case are imminent. It is also speculated that similar cases may be filed against other vloggers and YouTubers for their involvement in such campaigns. Authorities are reportedly intensifying their crackdown on social media activities deemed harmful to the judiciary.
