The Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered the authorities concerned on Tuesday to obtain and submit reports of the detention centres and agencies in the cases of missing persons. A two-member bench led by Justice Naimatullah Phulphoto heard petitions related to the recovery of missing citizens. The court ordered the authorities to submit travel history report about a citizen who had been missing since 2013. The families and lawyers of the missing citizens appeared in the court, while the police submitted their report. It said that two missing civilians had been recovered. The court asked the police about progress in the case of a citizen, who went missing in 2013 from Jamshed Quarters area. The public prosecutor stated that enforced disappearance had been determined in the investigation by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and the compensation in this regard had been paid. He added that the investigating officer sent letters to the detention centres across the country. The court directed for holding the meetings of JIT and Provincial Task Force. The court ordered the prosecutor to obtain and submit reports from the detention institutions and agencies across the country. The hearing was adjourned for four weeks.
