China's Xi extends condolences to President Alvi over bomb attacks

https://ift.tt/OwsCX6K Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday sent a message of condolence to President Dr Arif Alvi over a series of bomb attacks that rocked Pakistan. The two attacks, which occurred in Balochistan's district Mastung during an Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) procession and in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Hangu district a day earlier, have claimed the lives of dozens of innocent victims. In his message, Xi said that he was shocked to learn of the attacks which caused heavy casualties. On behalf of the Chinese government and people, Xi mourned deeply for the fatal victims and conveyed sincere sympathies to the bereaved families and those injured. At least 55 people, including a policeman, died and 60 others were injured when a suicide bomber targeted an Eid Miladun Nabi procession in the remote district of Mastung. They did it with unprecedented courage and bravery. Four security personnel were also martyred as a result of a terrorist attack in Zhob's Sambaza area. Xi emphasised that China resolutely opposes all forms of terrorism and will continue to firmly support Pakistan's endeavours to maintain national stability and security. On the same day, Chinese Premier Li Qiang also extended condolences to Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar.
